About the event
One of the few female composers from India to perform her works at Carnegie Hall, Charu has lived in four continents, and writes music that reflects her journey as both a traveler and young trainee as a classical music piano prodigy. She has been playing the piano since the age of five, performing since the age of nine, and won an international piano competition at the age of 15. Charu has a well established teaching practice, providing guidance in creative and performance skills, musicianship and theory of music. Her work was performed by New Jersey Symphony Orchestra for the first time on May 13, 2024 at NJPAC and has made appearances on stage at Lincoln Center, The Royal Opera House of Mumbai and more!
