About the event
Welcome to the Sound Painter Concert Series in the Dancing Elephant Listening Room. Our first offering features composer-pianist Heidi Breyer who has composed nearing a 100 piano works spanning 6 award-winning piano-instrumental albums including 'Amor Aeternus' her piano-centric choral orchestral work that was premiered at Carnegie Hall in July 2022. Many of Breyer's piano pieces have been written directly in response to the art of Alexander Volkov including 2018 album 'Moonlight in Empty Rooms', a musical study of 12 of Volkov's mid-career works. Having performed in galleries, theaters and concert halls across the country and in Europe our inaugural concert for The Sound Painter Concert Series is in many ways, a home-coming for Heidi. Showcasing a selection from her catalog, Heidi talks about the inspiration behind her music and how she approaches her writing. She reflects on the two decade-long collaboration with Volkov and will share her vision for her…
